Yes, there was a very odd three-part storyline right before the Marvel Knights stuff in which Matt was given back his sight in some manner so that he could infiltrate a particular situation for SHIELD. It wasn’t a story that made a lot of sense, though.

This story was called FLYING BLIND and in it Murdock gets brainwashed, dyes his hair black, and becomes Laurent Levassier, fighting for SHIELD in France.

And it’s pretty awesome. Ignore Tom :)
